After a delicious seafood dinner, your guide will take you to a quiet pier. You’ll board a small, silent, eco-friendly boat. As you float along the dark river, your guide will point to the mangrove trees. At first, you’ll see a few twinkles, and then… thousands. The fireflies flash in unison, lighting up the trees in a synchronized, pulsating glow. Expert Tip: The boat ride is quiet, peaceful, and lasts about 30-45 minutes. The best viewing is on a dark night, so try to avoid the week of the full moon if possible.

The fireflies are active all year round, so any time is a good time to visit. The best time of night is just after sunset, typically between 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM. Expert Tip: While you can go any night, the fireflies appear brightest on darker, moonless nights. If you can, try to plan your trip before or after the full moon. Don’t worry if it rains a little in the afternoon; the fireflies will still come out as long as it’s not a heavy downpour during the tour.
