Malacca is a city best explored on foot. As local experts, our tours focus on these must-see highlights.
This is the beating heart of Malacca’s nightlife. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night, this street transforms into a bustling market. Expert Tip: Arrive hungry! You’ll find hundreds of stalls selling everything from Jonker Walk Cendol (a must-try dessert) to grilled seafood, dim sum, and unique pineapple tarts. It’s also the best place to shop for souvenirs and crafts. Be prepared for crowds, as it’s very popular, but the vibrant atmosphere is worth it.

The center of Malacca is the Dutch Square, famous for its bright red buildings, including Christ Church (built in the 1750s). From here, a short walk takes you to the ruins of A Famosa, a Portuguese fortress from the 1500s. Only its main gate, the Porta de Santiago, remains. Walk up the hill behind it to find St. Paul’s Church. Built in 1521, it’s the oldest church building in Malaysia. The historic graves and stunning view from the top are highlights.

A relaxing 45-minute boat ride on the Malacca River is the perfect way to see the city from a different angle. You’ll glide past historic shophouses, modern hotels, and colorful murals painted on the buildings. Expert Tip: We highly recommend taking the cruise in the evening. The weather is cooler, and the entire riverfront is lit up with colorful lights, making it a beautiful and romantic experience.
