Genting Highlands Premium Outlets is Malaysia’s largest hilltop outlet mall: around 130 stores selling Coach, Nike, Burberry, adidas and Michael Kors at up to 65% off, open 10:00am to 10:00pm daily. It sits mid-hill at the Awana area, one cable-car stop below the casino resort. The brand directory

The official count is 133 store units. Here are the brands most shoppers come for, grouped the way the mall lays them out. Brands marked new opened in 2025 or 2026.

Luxury and designer fashion. Burberry, Coach, Michael Kors (plus a separate men’s store), Kate Spade New York, FERRAGAMO, Bally, BOSS, Armani, Max Mara, Marc Jacobs, KENZO (new), Polo Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers and Aigner. Melium Designer Outlet carries a rotating multi-brand luxury selection.

Fashion and apparel. Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Lacoste, Guess, Superdry, Levi’s, LEE, Giordano, G2000, Cotton On (with separate Body and Kids stores), Camel Active, Renoma, Sacoor, Victoria’s Secret, La Senza, Triumph and Wacoal.

Sportswear and outdoor. Nike Factory Store, adidas Outlet (a second adidas location is fitting out as of mid-2026), Puma, New Balance, Under Armour, Asics, Onitsuka Tiger, FILA, ANTA, Converse, Skechers and Rip Curl. Universal Traveller sells winterwear, useful if you are heading up to the cool hilltop after shopping.

Shoes. Timberland, Clarks, Birkenstock (new, opened 2025), Crocs, Hush Puppies, Obermain and Pedro.

Bags and luggage. TUMI, Samsonite, Longchamp, Furla, Charles & Keith, Bonia, Braun Büffel, Carlo Rino and LeSportsac.

Watches and jewellery. Swatch, Swarovski, Fossil, Citizen, City Chain, BALL Watch, Hour Passion (the Swatch Group multi-brand store), Watch Station International and Tomei for gold.

Beauty and eyewear. Bath & Body Works, The Cosmetics Company Store (Estée Lauder group brands), Sasa, Sunglass Hut, Focus Point and a Watsons for essentials.

Kids. Polo Ralph Lauren Children, Cotton On Kids, ANTA Kids, Poney and Toy World.

Home and lifestyle. Akemi bedding, Tefal cookware and Typo stationery, plus a currency exchange (JAGS Money) and convenience stores.

How to get there from KL

By car. GPO is about 50 km from central KL, a little under an hour without traffic. Take the E8 Kuala Lumpur–Karak highway toward Kuantan, leave at Exit 803A (Genting Sempah), and follow the hill road to KM13. The outlets appear on your left well before the hilltop resort.

By bus. Genting Express buses run from KL Sentral, Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, Pudu Sentral, Jalan Pekeliling and LRT Gombak to Awana Bus Terminal for RM10 (RM7 for children and seniors). The terminal is part of the Sky Sentral complex next to the outlets: a two-minute covered walk from bus door to mall door. From KLIA or KLIA2 the fare is RM35. By cable car. If you are already at the hilltop resort, the Awana SkyWay runs from SkyAvenue down to Sky Sentral station in about 10 minutes, with a stop at the Chin Swee temple station on the way. Standard gondolas cost RM11 one-way or RM19 return; the glass-floor gondola is RM29 one-way booked online. The line runs 7:00am to 11:00pm daily, so an evening descent to the outlets after a hilltop afternoon works fine.

The cable car stops at the Chin Swee Caves Temple mid-station, which pairs naturally with an outlets trip if you want one non-shopping stop in the day.

Parking and practical info

The 2026 parking rates (changed 1 January 2026) are tiered rather than flat:

A Premium parking zone nearer the entrances runs RM13–14 for the first hour with higher caps (RM28 weekday, RM34 weekend). There is a 15-minute grace period, and Genting Rewards Gold and Platinum members park free with a card swipe at the gate.

Other practical points: the mall is open-air but covered between blocks, so a light layer helps (the Awana area sits around 1,000 m and runs cooler than KL). Fitting rooms queue badly on Malaysian public holidays. GST-style tourist tax refunds do not apply in Malaysia, so the price on the tag is the price you pay.

Is it worth the trip?

If you are going to Genting anyway, yes without hesitation: the outlets are on your route up, the bus stops at the door, and an hour or two there costs you nothing but the parking. The sportswear and mid-tier fashion discounts (Nike, adidas, Levi’s, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein) are genuine and consistently the best value in the mall.

As a standalone trip from KL, it depends on what you buy. Coach, Kate Spade and Michael Kors run deep discounts that beat KL mall prices most weeks. True luxury (Burberry, FERRAGAMO) is more selective: past-season stock at fair reductions, not fire-sale prices. If your list is one specific luxury item at the lowest possible price, KLCC sale season may serve you better than the drive.

What to eat there

The F&B count is around 30 outlets. Sit-down options include Madam Kwan’s Select for nasi lemak, Absolute Thai Highlands, Peranakan Place and The Chicken Rice Shop. Ali, Muthu & Ah Hock is the kopitiam pick for breakfast if you arrive at opening time. Quick stops: Starbucks, Coffee Bean, OLDTOWN White Coffee, Krispy Kreme, Auntie Anne’s and Baskin-Robbins, plus Godiva, Venchi and FIDANI if you are carrying chocolate back down the hill. What are the opening hours?

10:00am to 10:00pm, every day of the week including public and school holidays. Individual restaurant hours can differ slightly, but the retail stores keep the standard mall hours year-round.

Is there parking and how much does it cost?

Yes, with rates revised on 1 January 2026: weekdays RM5 for the first 2 hours capped at RM15 a day, weekends and public holidays RM8 capped at RM21. A Premium zone nearer the doors costs more (RM28–34 daily cap). Genting Rewards Gold and Platinum members park free.

How do you get to the outlets from KL?

Three ways: drive the E8 Karak highway to Exit 803A (about an hour, 50 km); take a Genting Express bus from KL Sentral, TBS or Pudu for RM10 to Awana Bus Terminal, a two-minute covered walk from the mall; or, from the hilltop resort, ride the Awana SkyWay down to Sky Sentral station (10 minutes, from RM11).

Is Genting Premium Outlets cheaper than regular shops?

For outlet-model brands, yes: discounts run up to 65%, and sportswear, Coach, Kate Spade and Calvin Klein routinely undercut KL mall prices. The stock is mostly past-season or outlet-line. For current-season luxury pieces the savings are smaller, and KL’s sale periods can match them.

Is there food at the outlets?

Yes, about 30 outlets: Madam Kwan’s Select, Absolute Thai, a kopitiam, The Chicken Rice Shop, Burger King and Marrybrown, plus Starbucks, OLDTOWN, Krispy Kreme and a budget food court. Enough for a full lunch, not a dining destination in itself.
