Langkawi is filled with world-class attractions. As local experts, here are our tips for the must-see sights.
This is the island’s most famous attraction, and for good reason. The SkyCab Cable Car is one of the steepest in the world, taking you 708 meters up Machinchang Mountain. The views are breathtaking. Expert Tip: Buy your tickets online in advance to skip the long lines. We recommend a “combo” ticket that includes the Sky Bridge, a curved walking bridge that hangs 100m above the jungle. Be prepared for a short jungle walk to reach it. It’s best to go on a clear morning for the best visibility.

A standard island hopping tour visits three main spots. The star is Pulau Dayang Bunting (Lake of the Pregnant Maiden). After a short hike, you’ll find a beautiful freshwater lake where you can swim or rent solar-powered boats. Next is Pulau Singa Besar, where you’ll watch your boat captain feed wild eagles from the water—a great photo opportunity. The final stop is Pulau Beras Basah, a small, beautiful island with white sand and clear water, perfect for relaxing and swimming.
This UNESCO Geopark is a 100-square-kilometer area of ancient mangrove forests, sea stacks, and hidden caves. A boat tour here is an amazing nature experience. You’ll cruise through mangrove-lined rivers, watch dozens of White-bellied Sea Eagles and Brahminy Kites dive for food, and visit a Bat Cave (Gua Kelawar). You may also see macaques, monitor lizards, and otters. It’s a peaceful and stunning look at Langkawi’s wild side.
