Dress code, zone by zone
Water park and slides. The official allowed list is short: swimsuit, short or long tights, and t-shirts. Quick-dry fabrics like Lycra and nylon are the point; anything that soaks up water is refused, which is why jeans, jackets, tracksuits and traditional garments such as sarees, abayas, baju kurung and kebaya are on the banned list for the pools. Nothing with buttons, zips or metal rivets goes on the slides, and jewellery and watches come off too.
For ladies specifically: bikinis are fine, leggings and a sporty top are fine, and Lycra burkini or muslimah swimwear is fine and common at the park. The rule is about the fabric and the fit, not coverage: snug and quick-dry passes, loose and absorbent does not.
Kids: regular diapers are not allowed in the pools; waterproof swim diapers are. You can bring a baby float, but adult personal floats, bodyboards and surfboards stay home.
Scream Park. The opposite rules apply: no wet clothing inside, and footwear is mandatory. The corridors are dark and occasionally slippery, so sneakers beat flip-flops. Leave studded belts and big buckles in your locker.
Amusement, Extreme and Wildlife parks. Ordinary comfortable clothes and secure shoes. On thrill rides like the G-Force X or the bungee, form-fitting wins: caps, loose eyewear, bags and anything that can fly off must be set aside, and long hair needs a tie. The Vuvuzela slide has a 110 cm minimum height, and most extreme rides post their own limits at the queue.
What to bring

A note on water: officially, outside drinks are not allowed at all. In practice, bag check usually waves through one sealed bottle of plain water, and there are refill stations inside, though visitors report they can be hit-and-miss. Bring the sealed bottle and treat a refill as a bonus.
What you cannot bring
Bags are inspected at the entrance, every time. The hard bans: outside food and drink (exceptions only for baby food and medical needs), alcohol anywhere on the property, glass containers, and anything sharp, down to scissors and nail files. Personal floats beyond a baby ring stay out of the water park.
One rule that catches people out: your wristband is single-entry. If you leave for lunch at Sunway Pyramid next door, you are not coming back in on the same ticket. Plan to eat inside; the park’s outlets are Muslim-friendly and include Marrybrown, Subway and several local options.
Lockers and towels
Lockers are the all-day, open-as-often-as-you-like type, rented at counters near the water park entrance and at points through the park. Sunway Lagoon’s own pages currently quote two price sets, RM25/RM45 (FAQ) and RM28/RM55 (pricing page), so budget the higher figure: RM28 for a standard, RM55 for a large. A large fits a family’s bags with room for shoes during the wet half of the day.
Towels: none provided, none for rent. This is the single most forgotten item. Pack one per person.
Photos and cameras
Walking-around photography is fine everywhere except posted areas of the Wildlife Park. On the slides and thrill rides it is a different story: phones, GoPros, selfie sticks and monopods are barred for safety, and dry thrill rides also refuse cameras, bags and caps. Drones are not allowed without prior arrangement with the park. If you want ride photos, the park’s own photo service covers the big slides.
Is the ticket + transfer combo worth it?
The gate price for a standard adult is RM268 (RM198 with MyKad), and the park sits 15 to 25 km from most KL hotels depending on traffic. A Grab each way adds RM25 to RM50 per ride, and the closing-time surge at the park exit is real: everyone leaves wet, tired and at the same moment.
